Akaziyah moved to Mauritius in 2020 with the dream of settling down, bringing with him a passion for good food. His spouse, Jennifer, who already owned a small neighborhood restaurant decided one day to add a simple yet delicious vegan pita sandwich to her menu, something she often prepared for her husband – without realizing that a passing vegan influencer, “fueledbyplants”, would be the spark that changed everything. Fast-forward to today, their spot has earned a cult following among both locals and tourists!

Shlomo offers a menu of plant-based comfort food delights – think burgers, shawarmas, hummus, and pitas – each as indulgent as they are refined with scientific precision. Entirely made in-house, these dishes will have you struggling to believe they’re vegan, thanks to some seriously convincing replica meat. Accompanied by rich and potent spices, their selection of plates delivers bold flavors and perfectly hits that comforting spot.

With a loyal and growing fan base, Akaziyah and Jennifer are already dreaming bigger. Their next step? Expanding into fast food and bringing their plant-based creations to even more locations across Mauritius.
